“Back in 1999 Sean Tillmann (a.k.a. Har Mar Superstar) and the Strokes fortuitously crossed paths after a Strokes gig in Lawrence, KS. Through sheer accident they ended up at the same house party. Har Mar and Julian ended up in the same corner observing the ridiculousness when a party-goer stopped by and proclaimed her love for Har Mar Superstar. Julian said, “You know him? That guy’s nuts.” Har Mar, standing directly beside him, said, “Yeah, man. I’ve been talking to you for 5 minutes.” The two bonded immediately and Har Mar ended up being the opener for a large portion of the “”Is This It”” tour just a short month and a half later.

10 years down the line the two are still friends, and Har Mar jumped at the opportunity to cover Casablancas for the Voice Project. While on a writing retreat on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, Har Mar filmed the clip on scenic Ganges Bay with help from his friend Stacy Barnes.
