After a mini adventure getting to this shoot I was happy to arrive at a beautiful brownstone and met by several lovely people walking down the street carrying instruments. The singer, Jocie Adams, had already done a session with us as part of The Low Anthem, which is one of my favorite videos so it was nice to film her again in a new band with a new sound. (Btw, I love seeing her described online as a “singer, multi-instrumentalist and former NASA technician.”) I am personally a big fan of Fiona Apple and I thought this was a great treatment of “Every Single Night.” When first hearing the band run through the song I was thinking to myself how wonderful it will be to hear the sound of those birds chirping in the background, and then I realized the second time around that Nora was making these sounds herself!
