Vocational Training

What a difference a year can make. The trauma that Anena Joyce had been through could not be lost on anyone. Cut to one year later and thanks to the Destiny School, TVP Vocational Programs, your support and Joyce's will to overcome, she has graduated from tailoring school with her own equipment, ready to go into business for herself. The pride, for her and all of us is hard to mask. These are the kinds of transformations that the TVP model can enable with your help.

Godwin Mayega's Destiny School is a small one, but one that truly helps students realize their dreams. Often without the right to even own land, women and girls in the region widowed or orphaned by war are often left with no way to survive. Additionally gender based violence rates are extremely high both in the IDP camps and in the communities. Job training and leaning a skill or craft like those taught at Destiny is a dream for many girls and women effected by the war, and a means to a survival and a better life. Sponsoring students and supporting the school is an important initiative for The Voice Project as we believe individual economic empowerment leads social empowerment and change. Anena Joyce, is a great example. This type of training and something like a sewing machine may sound like a small thing, but it these small investments that can make a world of difference. We are proud to support the school and defray the costs for students like Joyce in order to help them realize their dreams and to start anew.

Donations to The Voice Project allow us to continue programs like this that are making a real difference on the ground.
