UN interviews with LRA who have surrendered recently show that many are doing so because of FM radio broadcasts letting them know that they’ll be safe and returned home if they do turn themselves in to UN, UPDF, SPLA (Southern Sudan) or FARDC forces (LRA commanders tell them that they will be killed). We’re helping to build those radio stations and expand FM radio coverage in northeast Congo, Central African Republic and southern Sudan where the LRA are active. Also to support this effort, Anna, Ariana, Ryan and I leave for Uganda in a few weeks to record Acholi songs and messages which we’ll be hand delivering to the radio stations in northeast Congo and surrounding areas.
