For three years in a row the students of Byram Hills High School have raised money for TVP with their annual benefit concert. This year they beat last year’s $600 with a raise of $830! We’re so lucky to have these amazing students on our side. We’ll be sending 100% of the money they raised to support the Koro Abili Primary School outside of Gulu.
Although the war has moved to DRC and CAR (where we are working with the UN and local partners to help get back child soldiers, using songs and FM radio to encourage defections and safe surrender), just as important is the economic and educational revitalization of northern Uganda where the war was born and raged for more than two decades, to support survivors and to try and help change the conditions which can give rise to armies like the LRA. To do so we work to support amazing educators and resilient entrepreneurs on the ground. Recovery is not an abstract concept, this is exactly how it happens, and it continues to happen with help from the students at Byram Hills High, hats off to you all.
