One of the cover chains started with Matt from Delta Spirit hooking us up with Deer Tick’s John McCauley who did an incredible version the Shivers “L.I.E.”, then The Shivers doing Cameron’s “Wish So Bad” and we all sat around for the next few days marveling at the performance and the LYRICS, so we were pretty excited to hook up with the man who wrote them. This is a great chain of friends covering friends, supporting each other, similar to how we started with Dawes, Ed Sharpe and Blake Mills, and also the Garrison Starr, Joey Ryan, Kenneth Pattengale, Cary Brothers chain. It’s wonderful to get to see these communities of friends and musicians coming together to show their real love for each other, each others music, and for the cause. When we met with the first women’s group in Kitgum, Uganda, we said we wanted to help but also that we could use some help, that we need their story back in the States and around the world because we could learn so much, that in many parts of our lives we’ve lost that sense of community and of being responsible for each other that they have. That’s been one of of the big themes of the project that keeps coming through, and this chain is a great example. Thank you Cameron for inviting us into your home and for continuing this string of songs with crazy amazing lyrics with this pass to another friend.
