JBM invited us up to the place he’s been renting in Walton, New York where he’s been doing some writing…the stillness and the quiet strike you up there on the west side of the Catskills, makes you want to linger, a place where you could share the silence the way you can with a good friend. We drove up that day from the city barely ahead of the the snow that started to fall as we were shooting and the place seemed like a remedy to all the running around of city life. It’s the kind of spot where you would think back to a favorite song, to a favorite time, to a favorite person, and it’s hushed tones seemed to infuse JBM’s wistful version of M. Ward’s “Carolina.” Love that it’s one of his mama’s favorites…
