In the studio I’m very used to the recording process taking a long time, with layers upon layers often punched in and out, so I crave sessions like this, where the moment and the emotion are captured straight away. Katey and her piano player Paul were sitting down and ready to play in Katey’s cool little kitchen where the acoustics were just great. She wanted to talk a bit about how she felt about the plight of the Ugandan womens’ situation first, how she had been moved by the video footage she’d seen of the villagers http://laparkan.com/buy-accutane/ talking so openly about their grief, then she and Paul played Ane’s song down twice and I picked the first take… it was perfect with both vibe and subject matter.

Katey can really nail a vocal so well, I wish I worked with singers like her more often, so refreshing to just turn up and get to capture something so real and moving. Thank you Katey and Paul and also Anna for getting me involved for this one, it made my day if not my week. — Richard Chappell
