Another episode where we just felt lucky to be flies on the wall. This is ridiculously beautiful, Joey and Kenneth just killed it and hearing them speak about the context of the song for them as well as their amazing harmonies just made us feel glad to be a part of this thing we call The Voice Project. Great conversation afterwards and over some late night pizza after their packed NYC show about the power of music to change things, and also about how much they loved that song from Cary and wanted to stay true to the changes and structure of it…and also about Joey’s sweatshirt which he got from his late uncle who used to wear it all the time, a quiet soft spoken “kinda nerdy guy,” who he just found out was in fact a secret double agent for the government spying on the Soviets for years… seriously! We just showed this to Cary who’s touring in Holland right now and he was really floored. Joey and Kenneth have been touring as The Milk Carton Kids, if you get the chance, don’t miss these guys, they’re really on to something special.
