This was one of the hottest days I can ever remember in NYC but Rosi’s apartment was like an AC sanctuary… I could have stayed there forever! Rosi is good friends with Greg Holden and Katie Costello who both did episodes recently, and as the plan is always to see how the message could spread from one person to another I love following up on these leads… so back over to Brooklyn. We do a lot of shoots there as the word has been working its way through what is such a vibrant community of artists there, similar to the way it’s been doing in the Venice and Los Feliz/Silver Lake, London and Toronto music communities. Rosi was absolutely lovely, has such a sweet and peaceful presence about her, it seems to match her voice that just rings clear and true and I think that comes across in the video. That’s something I really like about these shoots, I mean we call them shoots but we’re essentially just stopping by…no lights or set up, single camera, just one or two of us there usually, chat for a bit, play a song…and I think in that stripped down moment you get a chance to see these participants shine as the beautiful artists, the beautiful voices they really are. So we hung out a bit taking sanctuary in her AC and tried to get her cat to make an appearance (I love that bit of the end of the Tom Freund video when Emmy makes her cameo), to no avail though, camera shy. Shortly after we shot this Ryan Gall filmed an episode on the other coast, in Los Feliz with our good friends Cary Brothers and Laura Jansen (continuing the Garrison Starr » Joey Ryan/Kenneth Pattengale » Cary Brothers chain) and they also did a Ryan Adams song (that episode coming up soon), so I guess something is in the air…. Thanks to Rosi for this, just beautiful. — AG
